Internship

 

The IE Lab offers internships to students enrolled in “9480: User Experience Internship.” The course is part of the User Experience and Usability (UXU) Certificate, offered by the School of Information Science & Learning Technologies (SISLT). The UXU certificate prepares students to design and evaluate technology tools and information systems. The multi-faceted human-centered lens for design and evaluation is a systematic process supported by research and best practices. Read more about the courses and how to apply.

In addition, SISLT’s IELab offers following: Undergraduate students can enroll in ISLT4310. Students enrolled will work with the IE Lab for one semester, Graduate students have the alternative option to enroll in the course of ISLT9085 (Problems in ISLT). Dr. Gloria Creed-Dikeogu is currently a student in the Graduate User Experience Certificate Program at the School of Information Science and Learning Technology at the University of Missouri. She holds Master’s degrees in Library and Information Management, Human Resources and Business Administration and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Online Learning and Instructional Design. Her research interests are:

  • Online Learning and Information Literacy Instruction
  • User experience in library-related settings
  • Qualitative Research Methodologies

Amy Frisz-Conlon

Intern Spring 2019

Amy Frisz-Conlon is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Architectural Studies at the College of Human Environment Science. She is also pursuing a User Experience and Usability certificate with the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies, University of Missouri. She holds both a Master of Science in Architecture and a Master of Design from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture Art and Planning. Her research interests include:

Matin is an Intern with the IE Lab since Fall 2018. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri. He is currently a PhD candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis and MS student in Information Science and Learning Technology. He also holds an MBA degree. His areas of expertise include:

Courtney Baker was an Intern with the IE Lab in Fall 2018. She completed her master’s degree in Learning Technologies and Design at the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri in 2018. She also received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She is currently pursuing her interests in Instructional Design.

Michele Kroll worked with the IE Lab in Fall 2018. She is a Ph.D. candidate in Learning Technologies and Design at the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri. She has seven certificates from the Interaction Design Foundation in User Experience and Usability. She holds an EdS in Information Science and Learning Technologies. Her research interests include:

  • Using Immersive Technologies for online learning environments(VR/AR)
  • Exploring Designs for Learning-CSCL (Computer Supported Collaborative Learning)
  • Gamification
