Lee Elementary School gave 16 Taiwanese visitors a first-hand look this morning at a typical day in the life of U.S. schoolchildren.
The graduate students, who are pursuing education careers at Tamkang University in Tamsui, Taiwan, spent two hours meandering through the school’s classrooms, media center and art and music rooms.
“We wanted them to see one of the best views of American education, and nowhere is it more evident” than “in this school,” said John Wedman, director of the University of Missouri’s School of Information Science & Learning Technologies. “When you walk in, you see school work displayed on the walls, you see the students engaged in learning, the teachers are great and the principal,” Teresa VanDover, “runs a great school.”
