IE Lab Members Present at Usability Conference in Taiwan


IE Lab members attended the International conference on Usability & Learning Technology in Taipei, Taiwan, from May 2 to May 3, 2008, where John Wedman and Joi Moore gave keynote speeches. Wedman’s speech was entitled “Power and Pitfalls of University Partnerships.” He talked about building partnerships and future cooperation between the University of Missouri, Tamkang University and Thailand Cyber University.

Moore offered a presentation on usability testing and evaluation. Borchuluun Yadamsuren, IE Lab senior coordinator, presented on a usability study conducted for a Missouri community college website.

The conference was hosted by the Tamkang University, which established the first international partner lab of the IE Lab. Dr. Flora Chang, President of Tamkang University, made opening remarks at the conference, and she emphasized the importance of usability studies and international cooperation between universities. The conference took place at the Chueh-Sheng International Conference Hall at Tamkang University and was attended by more than 200 usability and learning technology professionals.
