IE Lab members attended the Usability Professionals’ Association International conference in Baltimore, MD, from June 17-20, 2008. Borchuluun Yadamsuren, IE Lab senior coordinator, presented a research poster about the usability of a downloadable digital newspaper. The study was conducted in the lab last year and forty respondents tested the usability of the eMprint newspaper, published by the Columbia Missourian newspaper. Dr.Moore and Anindita Paul, senior coordinator of the lab also attended the conference.
The Usability Professionals’ Association supports usability specialists, people from all aspects of human-centered design, and the broad family of disciplines that create the user experience in promoting the design and development of usable products. The annual conference of the UPA was attended by more than 800 usability professionals and 23 vendors. The theme of the conference was called Managing User Experience, which covers a range of important issues for user experience managers, directors, and team leaders on how to conduct user experience studies efficiently.
