Dr. Isa Jahnke was invited to the Herrenhauser Symposium 2017 and discussed “Design Trade-Offs for Quality of Life” . The organizers Gerhard Fischer (Univ of Colorado, USA), Thomas Herrmann (Univ of Bochum, Germany) and Volker Wulf  (Univ of Siegen, Germany) also invited some other research “heroes” to discuss Grand Challenges of the digital age. Approx. 45 researchers attended this symposium held in October 2017 (18-20 Oct) . Some of the key topics covered include Support for Learning, Work/Life-Balance, Privacy vs Personalization, Value Sensitive Design, Mobility for all and more etc. Outstanding researchers presented their work such as professors Gloria Mark, Batya Friedman, Pelle Ehn, Cindy Hmelo-Silver, Gerry Stahl, Alfred Kobsa, and others.
